The Effects of Social Competence Program on the Social Skills and International Relationship for the at-Risk Youth in Wee Center

Abstract
The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of social competence program on social skills and interpersonal relationship for the at-Risk youth, The subjects in this study were students who were addicted to the risk temporarily by overstress and shock, which was asked to the Wee Center. The students selected were 3 boys and 3 girls 1st grade middle school students. For this purpose, research questions are set as follows. First, was improved social competence program on the interpersonal relationship of the at-Risk youth? Second, was improved social competence program the social skills of the at-Risk youth? This program with reference to previous study was consisted of self-understanding, self-control, communication, sympathy, self-assertion and association. The program was progressed for 10 sessions-each session 60 minutes on twice for a week. The findings of the study were as follows : The social competence program was improved the interpersonal relationship and social skills of the at-Risk youth and operated the change to the social skill behavior in sessions. This syudy had a limitation to generalize the result of the study for the limited case, but social competence program was effective to improve the interpersonal relationship and social skills of the at-Risk youth and was expected to help the adaptation and development of the at-Risk youth who was exposed to the current risk.
